Remember the days when you’d spend ages trying to get both eyebrows to match? Or that sinking feeling when you caught your reflection and realised half your brow had rubbed off? We’ve all been there. That’s why Barbara created Smudgeproof Inc.–to give her clients perfectly shaped, natural-looking eyebrows that last.
Microblading and Ombré Powder Brows have become the go-to service for busy professionals, active mums, and anyone who wants to wake up with flawless brows.
Make sure to browse our portfolio for many examples of our work in the microblading and combination powder brows techniques!
We’ve all seen those blocky, obviously tattooed eyebrows from years past, but don’t let that put you off, as our modern microblading and powder brows are nothing like that. Our latest techniques create individual hair strokes or soft shading that blends seamlessly with your existing brows, giving you the natural fullness you’ve always wanted.
Barbara’s microblading and powder brows experience spans continents. After training in Melbourne, she spent a decade refining her craft across Italy’s medical facilities and beauty spas. Each appointment begins with an in-depth consultation where we:
The entire process takes about two hours, and most clients are amazed at how relaxed they feel throughout. Your cosmetic tattoo includes a complimentary touch-up session 4-6 weeks later to perfect your results.
One of the most common questions we get is about the healing process. Here’s what actually happens after your microblading and powder brows session:
Your new brows will look darker and more defined than the final result. Don’t panic, as this is completely normal! The pigment oxidises when exposed to air, creating a temporary bold appearance.
As your skin begins its natural healing process, you’ll notice some light flaking. Resist the urge to pick or scratch, and let those flakes fall off naturally to make certain that you get even, beautiful results.
Your brows might appear lighter or seem to have disappeared. This is just the pigment settling beneath the skin’s surface. Trust the process!
This is when the magic happens. Your true microblading and powder brow results emerge, showing natural-looking hair strokes that improve your features perfectly. At your touch-up appointment, we’ll add any finishing touches to make sure that you have absolute perfection.
When it comes to something as important as your face, experience matters. Here’s what sets Smudgeproof Inc. apart when it comes to microblading for Kew locals:

Most clients are pleasantly surprised by how comfortable modern microblading actually is. We use prescription-strength topical anaesthetic before and during your treatment, which means you’ll feel little more than light scratching sensations. Many clients actually find it relaxing enough to chat or even doze off during their session. If you’re particularly sensitive, just let us know, and we’ll take extra time with numbing so that you’re completely comfortable.
No, feathering is just another term used for microblading, due to the light, feathery strokes and lines used in the process. You may also see microblading called 3D eyebrows, 6D brows, feather-stroke, feather-touch, eyebrow embroidery, micro-stroking, semi-permanent brows and micro-feathering.
If you have had block tattoos done for your eyebrows, you may be able to transition to microblading as the old tattoo fades. Microblading can add some much-needed texture and a more three-dimensional effect to your flat, blocked-in brows. Once existing block brows have faded sufficiently, the hair stroke technique will enable a transition to a more natural effect. In some cases, laser tattoo removal is recommended to facilitate the process and ensure a better end result.
